Managing physical cards
Capital on Tap physical cards can be activated, frozen, or added to digital wallets through your online portal or app.
How do I activate my physical card?
Before activation, your account setup must be complete. This includes identity verification and an active Direct Debit.
To activate your card:
- Go to the Cards page in your online portal.
- Find the card you wish to activate and click Activate.
- Enter the last 4 digits of your card number.
- Enter the 6-digit verification code sent via text message to your registered mobile number.
Important: The Main Account Holder must activate their physical card before employees can activate or use their cards.
How many physical cards can I have?
Accounts are limited to 1 physical card per cardholder. If you need to replace a lost, stolen, or damaged card, the old card must be terminated before a new one can be issued.
For businesses with multiple employees, each employee cardholder can have 1 physical card.
Do all cards have access to ATM withdrawals?
No, not all cards have access to ATM withdrawals. Access depends on the card type, account status, and settings configured by the Main Account Holder when the card is issued.
How do I issue a new physical card?
You can issue a new physical card directly through your app or online portal:
- Log in to your account.
- Go to the Cards page.
- Click Add new card.
- Select the cardholder and choose Physical card.
- Set any desired spend limits.
- Confirm the delivery address and place the order.
Physical cards will arrive within 2-5 business days and tracking links are usually generated 1 business day after the card is issued.
How do I terminate a physical card?
You can terminate a card through your web portal or app if it has been lost, stolen, or compromised.
- Log in to your account and go to the Cards page.
- Select the card you wish to terminate.
- Choose the Replace option.
- Select a reason for the replacement.
- Confirm your delivery address.
If you select Damaged, the current card will remain active until you activate the new one. If you choose the Lost or Stolen option, the card will be terminated immediately.
Terminating a physical card will automatically terminate any linked digital wallets and the subscriptions or recurring payments will fail. You will need to add your new card to your wallet once it arrives and update the details for any subscriptions needed. Once a card is terminated it cannot be re-activated and must be replaced.
How do I unfreeze my card?
A card may be frozen if you froze it yourself or entered an incorrect PIN too many times.
To unfreeze the card, a Main Account Holder or Admin can do it through the online portal or the app on the Cards page by selecting unfreeze/unsuspend.
If the card is frozen due to inputting an incorrect PIN too many times, it will also require a balance enquiry at an ATM to unblock the chip for payments.
My activated card isn't working for contactless. What can I do?
If your card has been activated but still isn't working when you try to use contactless for the first time, go to an ATM and do a balance query using your PIN. This should fully activate the card.
Can I change the details on my card?
No, it is not possible to change your security number, card number or any other numbers on your card.
